What would a Jackson Pollack metal sculpture look like? Like many of my statement pieces, this art came about totally spontaneously. 90%+ of the metal used in this piece were scraps from previous projects. I had saved all of the Burnt Painted Metal and piled it up in a large plastic bin. I needed to move it one day and found myself seeing all the layers of the different colored metal in the same way I look at Jackson Pollack’s paintings, as the individual designs within a specific color and then as the synergy of the whole. Layers of color interacting with each other.
Weaving this together and getting it to stay together was a bit of an effort. If it was easy, everybody would do it. And nobody is doing Jackson Pollack metal sculptures so, might as well be me.
